Few things make us happier at ItalianAware than seeing a new Italian group or organization try to introduce the Italian culture to different areas. Capital Italian American Organization (CIAO) is a Tallahassee, Fla. based Italian Organization that will be hosting its first Italian Family Festa next month.
CIAO says that its aim is to, " introduce Tallahassee residents to Italian culture, showcasing it in a positive light. The money raised at the event will benefit CIAO and Florida State University's study-abroad program in Florence, Italy."
CIAO is only six months old but already has hundreds of members. The organization states that it is on a mission to battle negative Italian stereotypes and present the positive reality of Italian culture.
Wow. Any organization that is willing to combat stereotypes, portray Italian culture in a positive light and aid an Italian Study Abroad Program is just fine in our books. CIAO embodies the spirit of our website and aim- Italians displaying their true culture for all the world to see. here are the particulars:
